Terms of Service

Version 1 · Updated 10/29/2026

Draft — pending legal review.

1. Acceptance and eligibility

By creating an account you agree to these Terms. You must be 18 or older, and you may hold only one account.

2. Simulated licenses

Jimmy Bob licenses, call signs, and frequencies are simulated. They are not FCC licenses and give no right to transmit on amateur radio bands.

3. Your account

Keep your sign-in details secure and your information accurate. You are responsible for activity on your account.

4. A free and open forum

Jimmy Bob is a free and open forum that requires respect and kindness. The Front Porch Rules are part of these Terms.

5. Your content

You own your voice and profile content. You grant Jimmy Bob a license to stream, moderate, and display it in the service.

6. Live audio and safety review

Live sessions are streamed to listeners. A rolling 2-minute audio buffer is kept for each live session so moderators can verify reports. Buffers are deleted after 24 hours unless attached to a report, in which case they are kept until the report closes plus 30 days. Owners may separately opt in to recording their own sessions.

7. Moderation

We may warn, mute, suspend, or remove accounts or content that break the rules or cause harm, at our discretion.

8. Reporting and appeals

Reports must include a reason and an explanation. Members may appeal a warning or suspension once within 14 days.

9. Notifications and email

We send notifications you choose, plus essential account emails. You can change notification settings at any time.

10. Intellectual property

The Jimmy Bob character, name, and brand belong to Jimmy Bob the Ham Radio.

11. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided as is. To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.

12. Termination and deletion

You can delete your account at any time. We may end accounts that violate these Terms.

13. Changes and governing law

We may update these Terms. When we do, you will be asked to accept the new version on your next sign-in.
