Amateur satellites () relay signals as they pass overhead, usually for a few minutes per pass. changes the frequency as the satellite approaches and departs, so operators tune during the pass. The program lets students and hams talk with astronauts on the International Space Station. Advanced hams also bounce signals off the moon () and off meteor trails.
